“Harmonies of Reston” – October 28, 2023, Saturday, 4 pm
Led by Music Director Finalist Yoon Nam, the season opening concert features some of the most recognizable classical and Broadway orchestral pieces: Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 (the Unfinished), Bizet’s “Carmen” Suite No. 1, Bernstein’s “West Side Story”, and Grieg’s “Peer Gynt” Suite No. 1, Op. 46.
“Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” – January 13, 2024, Saturday, 4 pm
Led by Music Director Finalist Mark Irchai, this concert features RCO’s premiere of Bologne’s overture to “L’Amant Anonime”, Coleridge-Taylor’s Four Noveletten for Strings”, and Joplin’s overture to “Treemonisha”
“Get London On the Horn” – March 17, 2024, Sunday, 4 pm
Led by Music Director Finalist John Murton, this concert showcases works from the 16th to the 20th centuries that all share a link to London, as well as an award-winning American horn concerto composed by Lee Actor, featuring guest soloist Eric Moore, Principal Horn of Fairfax Symphony.
“Connections” – May 18, 2024, Saturday, 4 pm
Led by Music Director Finalist Dietrich Paredes Baralt, this concert will connect pieces by Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn, and featuring soloist Joey Hsieh, a National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellowship Cellist.
“A Tribute to Dingwall Fleary” – June 16, 2024, Sunday, 7 pm
Joint concert with The McLean Symphony (TMS) to honor the legacy of the late Maestro Dingwall Fleary, who was the beloved longtime music director of both RCO and TMS. This program features works that were meaningful to Dingwall, and guest soloists who were close to him.
