About the Orchestra

In 1988 Joellyn Kinzer invited a small group of musician friends to her home with the lure of cookies and an irresistible proposition—to form an orchestra.

Fast forward to today, the Reston Community Orchestra is the musical home of over fifty talented instrumentalists from Fairfax county and beyond.

Our mission is simple—to share quality music with our community. Under the leadership of Music Director and Maestro Dingwall Fleary, RCO offers five free/affordable concerts per season covering a wide range of repertoire from well-known classics to the works of new and lesser known composers.

The Reston Community Orchestra is a non-profit organization supported by grants from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, The Arts Council of Fairfax County and the generous donations of its members and supporters.
